Ah, the B-17 Flying Fortress. Made by Boeing for the war effort in WWII, this bomber was a critical aircraft in raids over Europe. This plane had guns all around it, but would often fly in formations with other B-17s to increase the odds of hitting targets. It was a very resilient plane and had a strong reputation for toughness, so much so that people have joked that the plane could be damaged from battle and still be landed with just the pilot sitting on the engine!
